In Tampa, Florida, Drew Andrews landed a job that was meant for him. For 23 years, Drew had served as a medic in the Air Force where he would often find himself operating as “a one-man hospital.” He knew that when he left the military, he wanted to continue his work in helping people.
After he was back home from completing his military service, Drew was walking his dog when he felt himself having what he knew to be a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital. While Drew was recovering, the folks at the hospital heard about his background and training as a cardiovascular intensive care unit nurse. They told him that once he was better, they would like him to join their staff! And, Drew did just that. Today, in addition to his job at the hospital, he also helps veterans through several outreach programs.

Kix’s Response:
A veteran, a nurse, and a philanthropist? Normally, we see folks falling under just one of those titles, but Drew Andrews is all of them in one!
We’re happy to call him our ACC Hero of the Week!
